The 1st Annual Troy Downtown Days promises to be fun for the entire family. Mark your calendar now for June 13th and 14th and plan to join us at the City Municipal Parking lot. Downtown Days will kick off on Friday with a Taste of Troy Pizza at 5:00 p.m., the Stan Fornaszewski Orchestra entertaining us from 6:00 to 8:30, and the movie “The Goonies” starts at 8:30 p.m. Kids can enjoy a bounce house, face painting and a coloring contest throughout the evening. Snacks will be available to enjoy so bring your lawn chairs or blankets and come join the fun. Saturday has events all day including an amateur pork steak BBQ contest, Office Olympics hosted by Troy Lions Club, music by Paul Jarvis and the Troy Community Band, a Classic Car & Truck Show, and more things for the kids. Be sure to visit the Cub Scout’s food stand and enjoy beverages during both days to support Troy’s civic organizations and the volunteers that make this such a wonderful community to be a part of. A favorite part of our festival will be Walldogs painting the mural on the Times-Tribune building. Prep work will start early in the week and we anticipate a finished product by Saturday evening. You are invited to watch Bernie Gietl and his crew transform this brick wall into a work of art. More information can be found at www.troyil.us or www.troymaryvillecoc.com.
