Annual Hope Seymour Dedicated Blood Drive
The 4th annual blood drive in honor of Hope Seymour will be held on November 14th. We are proud of the community, friends and family, who have rallied around this “mighty but little” girl to make a huge impact in saving lives. Hope is the five year old daughter of Matt and Brooke Seymour of Brighton. Diagnosed with a Congenital Heart Defect before she was born, Hope has required two heart surgeries in her short life. Hope’s mother Brooke, a third grade teacher at Brighton North encourages everyone who is able to give the gift of life. Just one blood donation can save up to three lives; blood is separated into red cells, plasma and platelets. Those requiring blood transfusions include premature babies, those undergoing surgery, accident or burn victims and cancer patients. You never know when someone you know, or even a family member may have an emergency and something as simple as blood may save his or her life. Everyone who is eligible is encouraged to join in the lifesaving mission at the blood drive on November 14th. To be eligible.
The blood drive comes at a critical time, leading into the holidays, which puts a strain on the blood supply. Even if you've never given blood before or if you don't know your blood type, there are patients who need your lifesaving gift. You can double your impact by bringing a friend to donate as well. The blood drive will be held at the Christian Life Center at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Brighton, 918 North Main Street. The hours are 2-8pm. Appointments are not required but strongly encouraged. To make an appointment, call Brooke at 618-541-444two or for all questions call Kelly at 618-210-854one. For those unable to donate or who wish to help in other ways, cookies are always needed and volunteers are welcome. We look forward to your support and hope to help even more patients than last year!
