SAINT PAUL’S LUTHERAN SCHOOL HOSTS COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE
Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church and School will host a community blood drive from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 112 North Border St., Troy, in the Ministry Center gym.
Please join us and help keep families whole in our community. The summer months typically have lower donations and yet much higher needs for blood. There have not been enough donors to maintain an adequate inventory and Saint Paul’s is hopeful that this event will help to restock supply before the summer begins.
Students encourage the community to donate and Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center will provide a $250 contribution to the school when 20+ units are donated. In addition, the organization will give $1 per unit above 20.
To donate, contact Kathy Brumm, in the Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church office at (618) 667-6681. Walk-in donations are also accepted.
Eat well before donating, hydrate well and be sure to bring a photo ID. In order to donate, you must have not donated elsewhere since February 10th (if donating whole blood). Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. or MVRBC Donor Card is required to donate.
Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors.
