Brown Street Baptist Church Presents Spring Musical “Giant Killer”
May 4, 2015, ALTON, IL – Have you ever had a really big problem? The kind of problem that just grows and grows, becoming so overwhelming that it just feels like a giant looming over you?
Brown Street Baptist Church’s spring musical “Giant Killer” tackles these problems head on. It follows the story of Dr. Richard Heart, a young, first-year doctor who has a giant problem. Dr. Heart is being bullied by an older, more experienced doctor at the hospital where he works, and Dr. Heart soon becomes afraid of standing up for what he believes in, specifically his faith in Jesus Christ.
To help Dr. Heart overcome his fears and learn what courage is all about, the Patch the Pirate crew piles in Professor Lambourghini’s Model-T Ford time machine to take a trip into Bible times and meet David, the shepherd boy. David teaches Dr. Heart and the crew how to have bravery by trusting in the Lord as his Shepherd and Guide. Suddenly, David is faced with the biggest test of his courage yet – a face-to-face meeting with Goliath the giant. Will David trust the Lord to help him defeat this giant? And will Dr. Heart face his own fears and replace his chicken heart with the heart of a lion?
Join Brown Street Baptist Church for this family-friendly musical on May 9 and 10, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. Children of all ages will enjoy the music, humor, and overall message of how to face their own giants. Come learn how you too can be a “Giant Killer.” Free admission.
