Christmas Candlelight Tours at Stephenson House
It’s that time of year again, when the snow begins to fall and the holiday spirit starts to illuminate everybody’s heart with joy. Take a journey with us back in time to an early 19th century Christmas with the Stephenson family. The 1820 Col. Benjamin Stephenson House will usher in the holiday season with the Christmas Candlelight Tours, November 28 & 29 from 6-9 p.m. Experience how they would have celebrated our century’s most festive holiday through a variety of family activities.
Historical interpreters will be on hand to answer questions as guests take on a self-guided tour through Edwardsville’s favorite historic house. And, after the tour, guest can enjoy a cup of hot wassail and a tasty Christmas treat by a cozy fire in the washhouse. All children attending the event will receive will receive a special gift from Father Christmas to enjoy after their visit.
The admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children (6-12 years), and five years old and under are admitted free of charge. The 1820 Col Benjamin Stephen House is a not-for-profit organization.
