HOLIDAY BAZAAR TO BENEFIT COMMUNITY
College Avenue Presbyterian Church is hosting a Holiday Bazaar that will give venders an opportunity to sell their wares, crafters to share their talents and collectors to make available treasured items that are no longer revered. On Saturday, November 7th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the corner of College and Clawson Streets, you will have the opportunity to support ongoing services offered to the community.
Donated crafts and collectibles can be brought to the church on November 4th or 5th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Left over items can be reclaimed on the morning of Monday November 9th or they will be donated to the Caravan Resale Shop which benefits QASIS, the Abused Women and Children’s Shelter in Alton.
Included in the event will be fair trade items from Peru, Cambodia, Haiti and Egypt. Fair trade makes a huge difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in those countries. Items are sold by Partners for Just Trade (PJT), a not-for-profit corporation based in St. Louis at the Giddings Lovejoy Presbytery Office. Also, a multi-colored nine patch, handmade, queen sized quilt is being donated for raffle by CAPC member, Susanne Randall. Susanne won first prize with this quilt in a competition among her peers in the Heartland Quilt Guild.
“I appreciate the efforts of the many people who are volunteering their time and support to make this bazaar a success.” said Pastor C. Dale Jackson. “Funds raised from the event will support College Avenue’s ongoing ministry and mission that includes a local food pantry, social justice work with the United Congregations of Metro East, and fighting world hunger through Bread for the World.”
Products that are available for sale will make excellent gifts for that hard-to-buy-for individual on your shopping list. For more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org , 618 567-1520 or email@example.com , 618 377-8257.
