JAZZ PIANIST TO PERFORM AT SENIOR SERVICES PLUS
Free performance offered for the general public
ALTON—On Tuesday, May 12th, 2015 from 11am until 1pm, Dave Foraker of True Blue Music Ministry will be providing a free musical performance at Senior Services Plus.
Foraker spent time in a rehabilitation hospital after suffering a stroke in 1996. As a means of regaining his musical skills, he began entertaining the residents at a nearby nursing home. Before moving to the area, he performed at several living facilities in North Carolina and South Carolina.
Foraker will be sharing his music, stories, and songs to encourage, entertain, and enlighten those around him whose physical limitations have presented challenges similar to the challenges he faced after his debilitating stroke.
The talented musician will be performing his own style of music, which he calls “Southern Gospel Stew, seasoned with Blues and Jazz.”
“Music can be a bridge to cross gaps in memories,” said Foraker. “Music is a vehicle used to deliver a message, and at the very least, entertainment. I attempt to bring some happy, pleasing music with encouraging messages to a variety of venues.”
Attendees of the performance are encouraged to listen, dance, and sing. RSVP’s are not required for this event and all ages are welcome.
