SAINT PAUL’S LUTHERAN SCHOOL HOSTS COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE
Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church and School will host a community blood drive from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 112 North Border St., Troy, in the Ministry Center gym.
Please join us and help keep families whole in our community. This year has been particularly difficult for blood banks. The summer months typically have lower donations and yet much higher needs for blood. There have not been enough donors to maintain an adequate inventory and Saint Paul’s is hopeful that this event will help to restock supply.
All donors will receive a pair of Gateway Grizzlies tickets and will be entered in a drawing for a football tailgating package!
To donate, log on to www.bloodcenterIMPACT.org or contact Kathy Brumm, in the Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church office at (618) 667-6681.
Eat well before donating, hydrate well and be sure to bring a photo ID. In order to donate on August 1st, you must have not donated elsewhere in the last eight weeks (if donating whole blood). Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. or MVRBC Donor Card is required to donate.
Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors.
