League of Women Voters and NAACP invite local, state and U.S. congressional candidates to events in October.
The League of Women Voters-Edwardsville Area in collaboration with the NAACP are hosting two voter services events at the historic Wildey Theater in Edwardsville.
On Thursday, October 13 at 7 pm, candidates for County Board Districts 17, 18 and 26 will present themselves to voters. Afterwards there will be forums for the candidates for Madison County Board Chairman and for State's Attorney.
On Wednesday, October 19 at 6:30, candidates for U.S. Representative in Congress for the 13th Congressional District and for Illinois State Representative for the 112th District will present themselves to voters. Judicial candidates will be invited to speak afterwards. In addition, information will be provided regarding the proposed Illinois constitutional amendment, the advisory referenda and Proposition E which appear on the November ballot. This event will conclude in time for all participants to watch the last 2016 presidential debate.
