As your public library, we recognize the potential of Community Conversations and how they can help transform our communities. Through specific dialog, public knowledge about community aspirations is gained. That knowledge can and should lead to meaningful and purposeful action.
For our library, it helps shape our strategic plan. For our community, it helps unite efforts around achieving shared aspirations.
Inspired by the work of the Harwood Institute for Public Innovation, Community Conversations seek to identify the public knowledge needed to inform strategic directions for the library. At these “kitchen table” conversations residents can share their experiences, concerns, and vision for our community.
Community Conversations will help us explore the issues that matter most to district residents. In order to best serve those who live in the 62040 area, we need to tap into the experience of people who live and work here. Please join us at any of the community conversations outlined below.

We need YOU to be a part of the discussion. When you join us, you will directly impact your community and help guide positive change for the future. We need you to share:
What kind of community do you want to live in?
Why is that important to you?
How is that different from how you see things now?
What are some of the things that need to happen to create that kind of change?
How do you learn what is happening in our area?
What role can the library play?
Conversations take an hour to an hour and a half. Light refreshments will be served at each session. All residents in 62040 are welcome and encouraged to attend any of these opportunities.
For more information, please call (618) 452-6238, ext. 301, to talk to Executive Director Tina Hubert.
