ALTON — Frantic phone calls, attempting to bring together many people pulling in different directions. Last-minute realizations that “no one called the caterer to confirm!” or “we never got those dress pants hemmed!”
What can be more stressful than the preparations for a wedding day, one of the most important days in a couple’s life?
With the first AdVantage News Bridal Extravaganza, sponsored by AdVantage News and Frew’s Bridal and Formal Wear, brides, grooms, nervous parents and wedding planners now can have a convenient one-stop destination to organize that all-special day and ensure it goes off without a hitch (well, maybe a small hiccup or two is to be expected).
From 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 11, guests can visit more than 40 booths at The Commons at Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey and finalize plans involving décor, catering, alterations, photography and much more.
Admission is free and so is the parking.
Booths from local businesses will have everything covered when preparing for both ceremonies and receptions.
“I have extensive experience with organizing bridal shows and we know that this will be our best yet,” AdVantage News account executive Pat Taulbee said. “The excitement is running high, and the room is going to be transformed into one of magic and beauty.”
A bridal fashion show will be provided by Frew’s Bridal and Formal Wear.
“They are going to do two shows, one at 1:30 p.m. and another at 2:30 p.m.,” Taulbee said. “They will include bridal wear as well as men’s formal wear and wedding attire.”
The first 100 brides attending the event will receive a free gift.
“Each bride also will receive a bag sponsored by Altonized Community Federal Credit Union that they can use to collect items and information from the booths,” Taulbee said. “Brides will come and bring friends and family members, so I am hoping to see 800 people or more at our event.
“Save the date and tell everyone.”
