I am writing on behalf of Steve Kochan, who has exemplified himself in generous service in many varied ways throughout the Wood River and Metro East communities.
If one would follow Steve on any given day, he or she would discover that his nature is one of help, assistance, and generosity to anyone who is in need. Steve possesses a keen eye to observe others who are in need and as soon as he recognizes this need, Steve is there to be of genuine assistance. All one need to do is look at his past and present involvement in any service-oriented projects to learn that Steve is willing and ready to roll up his sleeves, to get his hands dirty, to help whether it be in building a ramp so a neighbor can get to a doctor’s appointment, to provisions of a home-cooked meal, to participating and contributing to any committee, to the active practice of his faith, to helping his family. This list is endless on how Steve desires to be of service in any capacity.
In his sincere honesty, as well as his ability to place the needs of others before his own, Steve will work tirelessly for the good of the community. This communitarian attitude serves him well as he seeks to improve the community in which he lives as well as other communities throughout Madison County. In his sensitivity, his kindness and concern for others, Steve gives clear and concrete witness to the morals, values, and principles that build and promote a better community. From his solid family life, to his service to the community, to his wanting to build a foundation of trust between others, Steve’s presence is appreciated. It is my sincere hope that you will be able to recognize these same sterling qualities as I have been honored to see.
