Katherine (Katie) Anne Ammann and Geoffrey Paul Davis were married on Oct. 18, 2014, at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. C. Fred Eichner, Father Pius Wekesa and the Rev. Duncan Jones.
A reception followed at Kirkwood Adams Community Center in Roanoke Rapids with an After Party Contra Dance at The Roanoke River Mill in Weldon, N.C. A St. Louis reception followed on Oct. 25, 2014, at The St. Louis University School of Law 12th-Floor Rooftop Pavilion.
The bride is the daughter of John Joseph and Elizabeth Margaret (Winters) Ammann of Godfrey. She is a 2009 graduate of Washington University in St Louis with a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, a Bachelor’s degree in Music and a Minor in Philosophy. Katie is the Owner and Lead Instructor of The Music School of Roanoke Rapids; music teacher at KIPP Gaston College Preparatory Primary School in Gaston; music teacher at Halifax Academy of Roanoke Rapids; and organist at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Roanoke Rapids.
The groom is the son of Betty (Shearin) Davis of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., and the late David Earl Davis. He is a 2004 graduate of Campbell University with a Bachelor’s degree in History and a 2007 graduate of the University of Memphis receiving his Juris Doctorate. Geoffrey is employed at Chichester Law Firm in Roanoke Rapids as an attorney.
The maid of honor was Laura Elizabeth Ammann, sister of the bride. Bridesmaid was Rebecca Michelle Abert, friend of the bride.
The best man was D. Ross McKinney Jr., friend of the groom. Groomsman was Joshua Michael Williamson, friend of the bride and groom.
Other wedding party members included students of the bride, Bliss Scott, Eden Scott, Glory Scott, Jenny Titus, Sylvester Witherspoon Jr. and Sy’nia Witherspoon as ushers.
