BETHALTO — Civic Memorial High School will present Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma!” at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 20; 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 21, and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 22.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for students and children. Refreshments will be served at intermission, and audience members can meet and greet the lead characters. CM Principal Justin Newell and Dean of Students Aaron Kilpatrick are also rumored to make an appearance in the show.
This year’s performance features junior Dylan Arnold as Curly, the swaggering cowboy; and sophomore Jesse Myers as Laurey, the farmgirl who dreams of a bigger life. Aunt Eller, the feisty matriarch of the town, is played by junior Allison Wyrsch. Other principal actors include juniors Shayna Vogel and Dylan Cooper as Ado Annie and Will Parker, the lovesick couple. The character Jud Fry, a loner farmhand, is played by junior Spencer Zeisset and the traveling peddler, Ali Hakim, is played by sophomore Alex Pritzker.
“The cast and crew have really put together a great show. It is hilarious, heartwarming and full of energy,” Director Amanda Koch said. “We have also had a lot of help making this show great. We especially want to thank Ginger Robinson, who has spent countless hours helping to fit and size our farmgirl dresses. She has been a blessing to our program.”
