BELLEVILLE - Abbott Ambulance of St. Louis and Illinois will host its annual Clinical Save Dinner and Awards Presentation at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at Our Lady of the Snows Banquet Center, 442 South Demazenod Drive in Belleville.
The event will honor Abbott EMTs, Paramedics and Dispatchers from its St. Louis and Illinois operations whose actions resulted in a “clinical save.” A clinical save occurs when a patient who has lost vital signs regains them as a result of pre-hospital emergency medical care.
The dinner and awards ceremony will take place during National Emergency Medical Services Week. Patients and their families have been invited to attend the event and, if they wish, will present the Clinical Save Award to the EMS professionals responsible for their saves. Also honored during the ceremony will be fire, police and facility partners who participated in these clinical saves.
“This is the most significant event of the year for Abbott EMS as it reinforces for the community and our employees what is at the core of our profession — making a difference in our patients’ lives,” General Manager Mark L. Corley said. “We will be honored again this year by the presence of patient families who will join us to recognize these lifesaving medical professionals.”
Abbott Ambulance is the emergency medical services provider for many communities in the St. Louis metropolitan area and the Illinois counties of Madison and St. Clair.
