ALTON – For an evening of fine dining at a price that won’t break the bank, knowing you are contributing to breast cancer research at the same time, keep next Thursday open.
On June 12, Jimmy the Greek’s Grecian Taverna will be one of several restaurants to host the sixth annual Dine Out for the Cure, sponsored by the Susan G. Komen St. Louis Foundation. A portion of the tab will benefit community breast health programs and breast cancer research funded by Susan G. Komen St. Louis.
The restaurant will be open from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and offers a variety of Greek dishes including dolmades (stuffed with ground sirloin and rice and wrapped in grapevine leaves) and moussaka. For the less adventurous, there also are not-so-exotic dishes such as gyros, salads, burgers, and crunchy wrapped shrimp.
Jimmy the Greek’s is located at 1856 East Broadway, next to the iconic GB Grill. For more information, call (618) 462-6600.
Rib City, located at 201 East Center Drive in Alton near Alton Square, also is hosting the fund-raiser for both lunch and dinner, from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.
