The Piasa Palisades Group of the Sierra Club invites the public to celebrate the arrival of summer and sample more than 70 local and national craft beers at the club's premiere fund-raising event from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, June 27.
Expert brewmasters will be on hand to share their knowledge with you. Local folk musician Nancy Lippincott will provide live, toe-tapping entertainment. Light appetizers from Chef Aaron Whalen will be included.
The venue for the tasting is the Jacoby Arts Center, 627 E. Broadway, Alton.
Tickets are $20 in advance and can be purchased online at www.sierraclubppg.org. Tickets will be available at the door for $25.
Amateur brewers can enter their best beer in the Homebrew Competition by e-mailing Jon Clark at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A gently used two-person Keeowee kayak with a spray skirt and paddles will be raffled. Raffle tickets are $10 each and are available for advance purchase at the Sierra Club office, with the drawing happening at the close of the Craft Beer Tasting. Participants do not need to be present to win the kayak.
The club is accepting donations of gift certificates for mystery bag sales, and a 50/50 drawing will take place at the event.
The Craft Beer Tasting is open to the public.
