GODFREY – For about 60 years, the United Methodist Women’s annual rummage sale has offered the area the chance to discover treasured finds and support a good cause at the same time.
“Most of the women who put this together are in their 80s and 90s,” Jane Nimmo said. “I can’t tell you how much I revere these women and am so glad to be working alongside them.”
From 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, March 29, the Godfrey First United Methodist Church at 1100 Airport Road in Godfrey will host the sale, which also will include baked goods and hot dogs.
Items for sale in the 7,000-square-foot space will be divided into households, seasonal, linens, books, and clothing separated into men, women and children’s departments.
“We also have estate items available,” Nimmo said. “This is not just a small yard sale. These are high-quality items, and this area will be packed with everything you can imagine.”
Proceeds will go toward local charities, including the Hope Center, the Oasis Women’s Center, Riverbend Community Food Bank and others. Canned and dried food product donations will be accepted at the door.
There also will be a presale Friday evening from 4 until 7 p.m., with a suggested $2 donation. For information, call (618) 466-3624.
