EDWARDSVILLE — Madison County Association for Home and Community Education held its 78th annual meeting on April 28 at LeClaire Christian Church.
During this meeting, Eleanor Gregory of Alhambra Leef was elected as International Chair for 2014-2016 to the MCAHCE Board. Women were recognized for their volunteer hours with Madison County HCE members turning in 12,254 hours to the state IAHCE.
Dorothy Goebel of Prairie was recognized as a 65-year member and Kay Losch, Rox-Ann Unit; and Edith Ruehrup, Alhambra/Leef Unit, continue to be 65-plus members.
The organization awarded a $500 scholarship to Victoria Wieseman of Worden, the daughter of HCE member Lisa Wieseman and granddaughter of Pat Wieseman. Victoria attends Staunton High School and plans to attend Illinois College and major in chemical engineering. Victoria is active in FFA, 4-H, Madison County Fair Livestock Show and her church.
