WOOD RIVER — The Lewis and Clark Habitat for Humanity Wood River Area Chapter just completed a rehab of a house on Illinois Avenue in Wood River.
The family of Jamie and Jace Tomlanovich were welcomed at the house blessing on May 15. The Rev. Janice Forgach gave the blessing and prayer.
Lewis and Clark Habitat for Humanity serves the chapters of Alton, Bond County, Collinsville, Edwardsville/Glen Carbon, Highland, O’Fallon and Wood River. Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, nondenominational Christian organization; their mission is to build simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with those who lack adequate shelter. Recipients are required to contribute work hours in support of the home construction/rehab in addition to making their monthly mortgage payment. Since 1976 Habitat for Humanity has built more than 300,000 houses, providing shelter for more than 1 million people worldwide.
