ALTON — The West Elementary Parent Teacher Group is having their first annual indoor yard sale inside the school from 7 a.m. to noon. Saturday, April 12, at 1513 State St.
The fund-raising event will benefit students in kindergarten through fifth grade. This year the group was able to assist in purchasing books, computers, playground equipment and other educational supplies for the students through fund-raising.
Shoppers will have a chance to shop early from 7 to 8 a.m. for a $5 admission fee. Regular shopping hours are from 8 a.m. to noon for $1 admission or by donating two canned goods. Children will be admitted free. Entrance for the sale will be through the gymnasium doors only. Parking will be on State Street or behind the school in the upper playground lot.
Table rentals are available for $15 a table. Participants may rent more than one table. The Salvation Army will take any leftover items from the sale or take drop-off items starting at 11 a.m.
There will be an e-cycling truck parked in front of the school to collect unwanted electronic items throughout the morning. This service will be for anyone who would like to drop off unwanted electrical items. They take items such as computers, toasters, washers, dryers, TV’s and batteries.
