Five- and 6-year-old graduates marched tall and proud in their tasseled caps and gowns as Patti Fair’s kindergarten class came one by one to receive their diplomas and Bibles on Friday evening, May 16, at Alton’s Mississippi Valley Christian School. In a program entitled “Make Right Choices,” the 2014 kindergarten graduates vividly demonstrated through activity and song the biblical character traits woven into their learning of letters, numbers, science, history and government, to the delight of family and friends. The class scored exceptionally high on their Stanford Achievement Test. They all scored in the top 1 percent of the nation as compared to all of the public schools taking the same test. Graduates are Anna Gaworski, Evan Martin, Emily McLeod, Deborah Olney, Rayna Raglin, Royce Scott, Emma Steinhauer, Byron Williams and Jacob Wooten.
