Mississippi Valley Christian School students returned from Schaumburg with two state champions after competing in the Illinois Association of Christian Schools Fine Arts Competition in March.
Kristen Beck, daughter of Dale and Jenni Beck of Godfrey, was the Illinois State Champion in U.S. History/Geography Testing. Alyssa Cervantes, daughter of Michael and Ann Cervantes of Grafton, was the state champion in People and Animal Photography.
Placing third in state winnings were Emily Bernhard, daughter of Paul and Paula Bernhard of Fosterburg, in classical piano; and Katie Gleason, daughter of Tim and Kathy Gleason of Bunker Hill, in People and Animal Photography.
Blue ribbons were received by Kristen Beck in English Testing; Jessica Muntz, Old Testament Testing; and, Andrew White, U.S. History/Geography Testing.
Red ribbons were received by the MVCS Large Vocal Ensemble; Tyler Beck in U.S. History/Geography Testing and World History/Geography Testing; Emily Bernhard, English Testing; Jonathan O’Donnell, Landscapes and Architecture Photography, U.S. History/Geography Testing, and World History/Geography Testing; Allen Thompson, Algebra/Geometry Testing; Andrew White, Algebra/Geometry Testing; and, Suzanne Wille, English Testing and Landscapes and Architecture Photography.
White ribbon winners were Rachel Cunningham, People and Animal Photography; and, Jessica Muntz, U.S. History/Geography Testing.
