GRAFTON — Grafton’s ninth annual Art in the Park will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at the Grove Memorial Park on the corner of Main and Market streets (Illinois 3).
Art in the Park is a free event that showcases regional artists and features live music, food vendors, art activities and demonstrations.
More than 30 artists will display their creations in handmade art, fine art, paintings, photography, glass, jewelry, pottery and more. Art demonstrations will be presented throughout the weekend on candle-making, basket creation and pottery. Activities for children will be available throughout the weekend, provided by the Grafton United Methodist Church.
Saturday, Sept. 12
11 a.m. to noon: Jersey Community High School’s Shades of Blue Jazz Combo, Jazz Ensemble and Show Choir
Noon to 2:30 p.m.: multi-instrumental musician Matt Livasy, classic rock and folk.
3 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Happenstance, classic rock and pop.
Sunday, Sept. 13
11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Dan Sproat, classic rock, country and blues
2 p.m. to 5 p.m.: McCready Logan Project, contemporary rhythm and blues
In a new feature, prize-winning artwork by Grafton Elementary School students in grades K-4 representing “Wildlife Along the River” will be on display. A People’s Choice award will be voted on by attendees during the Art in the Park Sept. 12-13 as part of the art fair. Art content is sponsored by Burton Art Services of Alton.
