ALTON — This summer’s annual Feed The Need concert series will feature country stars Rodney Atkins and Jana Kramer and local bluegrass group The Harman Family Bluegrass Band.
The annual concert series is designed to help finance Senior Services Plus’ Meals on Wheels program, aimed at providing seniors with meals delivered to their homes.
The agency has seen drastic cuts to the program because of the state budget crisis, and proceeds from this benefit have become more important than ever.
The Alton Amphitheater Commission is helping promote the event, the seventh annual Feed the Need concert.
Rodney Atkins’ hits include “These Are My People,” “If You’re Going Through Hell (Before the Devil Even Knows)” and “It’s America,” all three of which reached No. 1. Jana Kramer, also known for her acting role on “One Tree Hill,” broke onto the country scene in 2012 with the top 5 hit “Why Ya Wanna.”
Rodney Atkins featuring Jana Kramer and The Harman Family Bluegrass Band will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at the Liberty Bank Alton Amphitheater. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. May 6 at the Alton Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau, 200 Piasa St. in Alton; Senior Services Plus, 2603 N. Rodgers in Alton; or online at libertybankaltonamphitheaer.com or metrotix.com.
Tickets will be $40 for lawn, $55 for premium reserved seats, $65 for VIP reserved and $75 for the pit. Children younger than 5 are free.
