With less than 2 1/2 years as a Boy Scout, Jonathan Andrew Turner attained Eagle rank and was recognized at an honor court March 30 at Julia's Banquet Center by the Gen. George Rogers Clark Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution. Jonathan received the award scroll and medal from James A. DeGroff Jr., president of the SAR chapter. Jonathan, 13, a student at St. Ambrose School, is the son of Dr. Geoffrey and Kathleen Turner of Alton. He joined Troop 7 in August 2011 and earned 38 merit badges while rising to the Eagle rank in December 2013. He has been a scribe and patrol leader for the troop, and was named to the Order of the Arrow.
