ALTON — The Beall Mansion and Elegant Bed and Breakfast Inn announced it has been awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for the fourth year in a row.
“TripAdvisor is pleased to honor exceptional hospitality businesses for consistent excellence,” said Marc Charron, president of TripAdvisor for Business. “The Certificate of Excellence award gives top-performing establishments around the world the recognition they deserve.”
Recipients must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, volume and recency of reviews. Additional criteria include a business’ tenure and popularity ranking on the site.
“We would like to thank all of our guests who have made the preservation, restoration and success of this historic, Alton area icon possible,” Beall Mansion co-owners Jim and Sandy Belote said.
Earlier this year, the couple received Lincoln Award gold medals at the Illinois Governor’s Conference on Excellence on Travel and Tourism.
The Belotes also operate the neighboring George Street Suites guest house, extended stay, corporate temporary housing and vacation rental.
About the Beall Mansion
The mansion was built in 1903 by Z. B. Job as a wedding gift for his son and his son’s bride. It later became the residence of Edmond Beall, four-time mayor of Alton, senator and co-founder of Beall Brothers Manufacturing.
