ALTON — Jacoby Arts Center will a talented trio on its stage this weekend.
The combination of Gigi Darr on keyboard, Lew Winer on sax and the vocals of Ralph Butler, one of St. Louis’ most popular musicians, makes this trio a must-see event at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at the arts center, 627 East Broadway. Their eclectic and versatile selections include traditional standards and popular music, creating an atmosphere of easy listening and pleasurable entertainment.
On stage with the Ralph Butler Trio, artist Vesna Delevska will perform her live-music painting. The artist, originally from Skopje, Macedonia, is influenced by early icons, frescoes and mosaics in the monasteries and churches of her native country. She blends expressive styles of narrative painting in colorful realism and abstraction. Delevska’s original painting will be auctioned at the end of the evening.
“Two of my passions in life are music and art, so I love the energy of performing in an art gallery, ” Darr says.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., music starts at 7 p.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and no reservations are required. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10.
