TROY — The inaugural Troy Downtown Days is set for June 13-14 at the City Municipal Parking lot.
Friday, June 13, features The Stan Fornaszewski Orchestra and vocalists. Stan Fornaszewski and his band will perform from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Municipal Parking Lot. Their big band sound has wowed audiences of all ages for more than 25 years. Sit back and enjoy selections from more than 50 years of memorable songs.
Troy’s professional vocalists, Emily Ottwein and Dawn Mushill, are sure to be highlights of the performance. Ottwein serves as the music director at Troy United Methodist Church and sings with multiple groups. Mushill is executive director of the Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine Chamber of Commerce and is lead vocalist for the Avery Hill Band. Both women know how to “bring down the house.” Guests are recommended to arrive early and bring their own lawn chairs.
Downtown Days will kick off on Friday at 5 p.m. with a Taste of Troy Pizza, bounce house, face-painting and more for the kids and the movie “The Goonies” starting at 8:30 p.m.
Saturday has events all day, including an amateur pork steak BBQ contest, Office Olympics hosted by Troy Lions Club, music by Paul Jarvis and the Community Band and more activities for the kids. The Historical Society’s Classic Car and Truck Show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Cub Scouts will run a food stand both days to support Troy’s civic organizations and the volunteers.
