In spite of some dismal weather reports, AdVantage News’ inaugural Bridal Extravaganza was held this past weekend in The Commons at Lewis and Clark Community College, and by all accounts it appears to have been a rousing success.
With the threat of an ice storm (that never materialized) hovering in the skies, brides from all over the Greater Alton area and beyond showed up with friends, parents and bridesmaids to explore all of the options and get feedback on how to put together the perfect wedding. Some even managed to bring (drag along) the groom-to-be, as well.
The feedback I received from both vendors and guests was overwhelmingly positive. In a couple of cases, I was making my rounds and kept walking past some business owners and representatives I wanted to visit with as they were busy each time with potential customers.
“I do about seven of these events every year, and this was by far the best this area has ever had,” said Mike Roper of Gateway DJ Entertainment in East Alton. “So far, we have booked seven weddings. For the investment, it’s a no-brainer.”
“Doing the bridal show with AdVantage News doubled if not tripled my business,” Madi Mayden with Mayde With Love Productions said. “I felt like (there was) a wide variety of professional and friendly vendors, so we were all able to work together and make it a successful day.”
The room was filled with samples of mouth-watering buffets and all types of wedding cake choices, from the traditional to the more exotic. Guests were able to get a taste of the types of salads and entrees that local catering services could offer for that special day. In addition, DJ services kept the room alive with music, both dance and traditional, to create the aura of a jumping reception. Hairstyling, makeup demonstrations and dance numbers were a highlight of the day, as well.
As people perused the many booths, collecting free goodies and contact information, Frew’s Bridal hosted not one but two fashion shows, showcasing the latest styles as well as dresses for the more conservative bride.
Our sales team did a wonderful job in organizing and promoting the event, and we sincerely hope everyone had a great time. Did you make it to our bridal event? If so, we would love to hear your feedback! firstname.lastname@example.org
