Kindergarten to third-grade Ss. Peter and Paul students attended a program at the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis on Wednesday, Jan. 14. Folk Music in the Melting Pot was the theme of the program, which explored folk music of America, from colonial-era ballads and Southern spirituals, to songs of the cowboys and folk songs of the 20th century. After the hourlong program, the students were allowed to visit the art gallery, which is attached to the concert hall. On March 10, students in grades 4-8 will visit the Sheldon for Lewis and Clark, a program that follows the adventures of Lewis and Clark with a musical journey from St. Louis, up the Mississippi River, across the Rocky Mountains all the way to the Pacific Coast.
