ALTON — One of gospel music’s most award-winning groups will be in Alton this summer for a family-oriented Christian concert at Calvary Baptist Church.
The three men who comprise the musical trio Greater Vision will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, June 19, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1422 Washington Ave.
Greater Vision performs nearly 200 concerts a year throughout the United States and Canada, and they say they hope to encourage others to share their faith in Jesus Christ.
The trio first organized in 1990. The founder, Gerald Wolf, is the emcee and lead singer, while Rodney Griffin writes the songs and sings baritone. Chris Allman rounds out the group by writing and singing tenor.
Greater Vision has been named Gospel Music’s Favorite Trio for multiple years and has also been noted for various Song of the Year, Video of the Year, Artist of the Year and Album of the Year awards.
The unique, rich sound can be heard consistently on Christian radio stations and Internet radio. The group also regularly appears on television on the program “In Touch,” hosted by Dr. Charles Stanley.
The singers say they hope to share their vision with others through song and worship to praise God, and also to help others praise God.
Tickets for the concert are $15 to $25, available at www.itickets.com/events/340357.html and at the church office. Doors open at 6 p.m.; the concert begins at 7 p.m.
