If you are like me, you are very tired of winter and ready for spring to bloom all around town. I can trust that spring will come because I trust God. Hebrews 11:1 says “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
Today I looked out a front window of our home and saw just the tiniest tips of spring flowers. My jonquils are showing their first green shoots. Once again God is fulfilling our trust. Spring is coming!
If it were only that easy to trust God in all things. Sometimes we ask God for something that we think we need, and we wait and trust that we will get it. We continue to wait ... and wait...and wait. Has our trust been for naught? Like children we think we should get everything we ask for, but God is our Father and He knows what is best for us. Sometimes He answers our asking by giving us something much better; other times He says ‘wait’ and still other times He says ‘no’ because He knows that what we ask for is not good for us.
Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Isn’t this what we all want! We must have faith that God will keep His plans for each of us. Don’t give up on God. Spring is coming because God set it in motion. Have faith.
