The AdVantage News family is expanding again with the addition of accounts manager Jeri Sitze to the Greater Alton office.
“I am extremely enthusiastic, ambitious and eager to learn the trades of the field and help the company grow,” Sitze, 22, says. “In addition, I believe my passion for the media and advertising is a huge asset to my overall performance.”
Sitze graduated from SIU Edwardsville with a bachelor of arts in applied communication studies with a concentration in public relations and a minor in mass communications. She served as a public relations intern at C. Green & Associates in Edwardsville, a marketing intern for GCS Credit Union in O’Fallon, Ill., and a public and community relations intern at Shriners Hospital for Children in St. Louis.
“I love utilizing my verbal and written communication skills,” she says. “I never would have imagined expressing any personal interest in sales, but throughout college I began to realize I wanted to pursue a career that would allow me to work hands-on with a variety of different people.
“I love building and maintaining relationships with others, especially if I can help expand their image and reputation throughout the community.”
This addition to the AdVantage News sales team was the culmination of an exhaustive process in an effort to ensure the position was filled by just the right candidate.
“We have been interviewing potential candidates for months,” AdVantage News Vice President Eric McRoy says. “We met Jeri at the Lewis and Clark Community College career fair and we knew right away that she has ‘it.’
“Clearly, SIU Edwardsville is doing a fine job of preparing their students for a professional career in PR and marketing.”
Sitze lives in Bethalto, where she was raised, and has a passion for animal rescue.
“I have a 5-year-old German shepherd mix named Polo that I recently rescued,” she says. “I literally adore her.”
She also enjoys spending time with family as well as her boyfriend, Jonathan.
