Marissa Phillips, a sophomore at the University of Findlay and Dorsey resident, earned her second national championship title at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association’s National Championship competition April 30 to May 3 in West Springfield, Mass. She won the title in Open Western Horsemanship, the highest level of IHSA competition. More than 400 schools compete in IHSA consisting of approximately 9,000 riders. The top nine teams advance to the national championship. She won several open horsemanship competitions, including semi-finals in Tallahassee, Fla., this past spring to qualify for the national championship show. Marissa is double majoring in equine science and business management and holds a 4.0 GPA.
