“It’s important for people to understand where their food comes from,” says the Sierra Club’s Christine Favilla. “A variety of vegetables will provide a rainbow of food to choose from. Vegetable and butterfly gardens have been planted at Lincoln Douglas Square, Discovery Garden, Hellrung Park and Grassroots Grocery.” Students of the YWCA After School Program planted seeds to see how vegetables start. Once the plants were big enough, they planted them in the gardens behind the YWCA. For information, contact Christine Favilla at email@example.com.
