St. Mary’s Middle School students performed “The Wizard of Oz” to capacity crowds Nov. 13-14. The production was complete with a wizard, tornado, witches, magic slippers, a scared lion, a feisty dog, a brainless scarecrow, a heartless tin man and more. The play was St. Mary’s first since installation of the new large screen with rear-view projection and a new robust sound system. These two new features at the St. Mary’s Parish Center, the former St. Matthews Church, enhanced attendees’ enjoyment, as scenes weren’t limited to what could be built and could change instantly. These enhancements were made possible by funds raised at Oktoberfest and from the Box Tops fundraising program proceeds. The musical, directed by Anne Davis, was the seventh annual musical performance by St. Mary’s Middle School.
