Motorists will see a bright new change at East Alton-Wood River High School as they travel along Wood River Avenue. Thanks to donations from the Bank of Edwardsville and the EA-WR Foundation, residents can see school updates on an electronic sign. The foundation raised part of the money for the marquee through private donations, commemorative brick sales and last winter’s cash raffle. “Events and announcements can be added and uploaded much more quickly than the former sign, as well as short, full-color video clips,” EA-WR Superintendent Dr. John Pearson says. “We are able to add more events than the old manual sign and change them more frequently, which will enhance communication with the community, as well as parents, students and staff.” Arrow Signs and Outdoor Advertising Inc. in Alton made the sign.
