COLLINSVILLE — The Illinois Department of Transportation Tuesday announced lane restrictions will be encountered at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 270, west of the exit ramp for Illinois 159 in Glen Carbon.
The restrictions are needed to perform emergency pavement resurfacing at the bridge over Judy Branch/Glen Carbon Heritage Trail. All work is expected to be completed by 3 p.m. Oct. 30. The department’s day labor and Troy maintenance crews will perform the work.
Traffic control devices and changeable message signing will be utilized to assist motorists during these lane closures. The department asks that motorists look for road construction ahead signs, be patient, reduce speed and use additional caution when traveling near this work zone.
