Volunteers with the Women of Worship of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Rosewood Heights prepare for the group’s annual fall festival at the church.
ROSEWOOD HEIGHTS — The Women of Worship of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Rosewood Heights are sponsoring the annual fall festival from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8.
The event will take place at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 10 N. Center St. in Rosewood Heights. The craft booths will feature a variety of handmade items including table toppers, knitted dishcloths, fall decorations, Halloween treat bags, floral arrangements and Christmas ornaments and gifts.
“We have been doing this for about 40 years,” Women of Worship secretary Dorothy Aitken said. “We have about 20 members, and probably 70 percent are over the age of 70.”
Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and dinner from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., including chicken and noodles, vegetable beef soup, sloppy joes and desserts.
“This event is famous for our chicken and noodles,” Aitken said.
In addition, jellies, candies and more will be available for purchase.
Proceeds from the lunch and sales will be distributed to local charities and projects sponsored by the church.
