ALTON | Aurion Berry, an incoming senior at Iowa State University, has recently joined the staff of the Alton Regional Convention and Bureau as an intern for the summer.
For multiple years, the CVB has worked with college students to help expand their knowledge base and introduce them to potential careers by providing an intern position. Aurion Berry has secured that position this summer. Berry is currently enrolled at the Gerdin School of Business at Iowa State and is double majoring in Marketing and Management.
“I feel as though I have learned a lot in the classroom so the chance for me to apply this in the real world is very exciting," he said. "This is a great time for me to get valuable experiences that I will be able to use going forward in my career. It’s been a very welcoming environment and I can tell I am going to gain some great knowledge from the people and the events held at the CVB. I’m pleased to be here and can’t wait to see all that I will be involved in this summer.”
This summer Berry will be assisting with a few of the many events that take place in Alton throughout the summer. A quick and eager learner with an open mindset, Berry is optimistic about this experience and ready to further both his knowledge and his abilities.
“I am very thankful for what I am sure is going to be a great experience. The people here are very upbeat and always ready to help out. I’m ready to give it all I have and to see how much I can accomplish and learn.”
Berry, a Godfrey native and 2013 graduate of Alton High School went to college trying to decide between Marketing and Management. He originally chose Marketing as his major but recently decided to complete a double major. In his spare time Berry enjoys playing music. He is in the marching band, pep band, and orchestra at Iowa State. He plays the viola and the tenor saxophone. He also enjoys rock climbing, reading, and enjoying time with his friends and family.
