EDWARDSVILLE — The Friends of the Benjamin Stephenson House will hold the annual Winter Dinner and Auction Friday, March 18, at the Leclaire Room of the Lewis and Clark campus.
Registration, social hour and silent auction bidding begin at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by entertainment and an oral auction. Also included in the evening’s festivities is a preview of “Murder in Edwardsville,” a play written by Dr. Sid Denny.
“This event is one of our biggest fundraisers for the year,” Stephenson House Director RoxAnn Raisner said. “What the Friends and guests accomplish at this event allows us to provide educational programming in the upcoming year.”
Dinner, provided by the Bella Milano, is served at 6:30 p.m. The menu includes prime rib, chicken Milano, Milano house salad, au gratin potatoes, cavatelli with meat sauce, carrots in maple glaze, green beans with onion, and dessert.
The oral auction will start at 7:45 p.m. Items in the oral and silent auctions include a handmade quilt by area quilt artist Jen Mercer, themed gift baskets, a Michael Kors designer purse, two tickets to the “The Bridges of Madison County” performance at the Fox, art, sporting event tickets, gift cards, and a variety of other merchandise. New auction items arrive daily for the event.
Proceeds will benefit the continued restoration of the house and the development and implementation of educational programs.
