EDWARDSVILLE — The Madison County Coroner’s Office is investigating the deaths of two men found dead Monday in their Pontoon Beach motel room.
In a press release, Madison County Coroner Stephen P. Nonn said the bodies were discovered at approximately 6:42 a.m. in Room 307 of the Super 8 Motel, 4141 Timberlake Drive. The Pontoon Beach Police Department called the Madison County Coroner’s Office to the scene at 7:49 a.m.
Duane A. Logsdon, 31, of Effingham was pronounced dead at 8:21 a.m. at the motel by Madison County Coroner’s Investigator Todd R. Ballard; and David A. Davis, 30, of Olney was pronounced dead at 8:22 a.m.
Autopsies were conducted on both men Monday afternoon. Both autopsies were inconclusive and investigators are waiting for results of toxicology studies for drugs and alcohol. No overt indication of foul play was present. In addition to the coroner’s office, the death continues to be investigated by the Pontoon Beach Police Department and Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services.
Funeral arrangements for Davis will be under the direction of Wojstrom Funeral Home of Pontoon Beach. Arrangements for Logsdon are pending.
