HARTFORD — Letter carriers and lettermen will try for a slam-dunk this weekend for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
A fund-raiser basketball game that features mail carriers taking on former members of Lewis and Clark Community College’s men's basketball team is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Hartford Community Gym, 715 N. Delmar. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the game starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are a $10 donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association; only 300 tickets will be available.
The event will feature a 50/50 drawing, Rams items for auction, a halftime free throw contest for children up to age 10 and concessions. All proceeds will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. No alcohol is permitted at the event.
“This game will be a great time for a great cause,” said Doug Stotler, head basketball coach and athletic director at LCCC.
“It will be good to catch up with some of our former players and see if we can post a win," Stotler said. "I hope people will come out to watch and support the MD Association.”
