All-Star Restaurant Week will feature collectors glasses highlighting the Piasa Bird on the bat. Patrons can take their receipt to the Alton Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau on Piasa Street in Alton to receive a free glass.
ALTON — Greater Alton restaurants are on deck for All-Star Restaurant Week as the Alton Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau receives shipments for a collectors glass featuring the legendary Piasa Bird.
“The summer Restaurant Week collectors glasses have been very popular with a traditional baseball theme,” CVB representative Jong Cambron said. “This year we reviewed several options and came up with our own Piasa Bird on the bat logo instead of the St. Louis Cardinals. We wanted to highlight the bird in our own back yard and give area residents something to feel proud about in their community.”
From July 8-17, All-Star Restaurant Week will feature food and beverages to tickle the taste buds while providing a fun atmosphere, ranging from family-friendly to date night.
Participating Alton restaurants are Bluff City Grill, Castelli’s, Chez Marilyn, Franco’s, Gentelin’s, Johnson’s Corner, Journey (Argosy Casino Alton), Old Bakery Beer Company, Olga’s Kitchen, My Just Desserts, Rib City, State Street Market and Tony’s Restaurant.
Carver’s will represent Godfrey while Grafton will showcase the Fin Inn, The Whole Scoop, Grafton Oyster Bar and the Grafton Winery and Brewhaus.
“We encourage everyone to visit our website frequently for new restaurants added,” CVB Visitor Assistant Gail Wallace said. “We will be adding more participating establishments as Restaurant Week approaches.”
Diners can take their receipts to the Alton Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau, 200 Piasa St. in Alton, to pick up their free collectors glass while supplies last.
