The Illinois Department of Transportation announces daytime lane restrictions will be encountered on the Clark Bridge in Alton beginning June 13.
The lane restrictions are needed to perform a bridge inspection.
Weather permitting, the following lane closures will take place:
- On June 13 and 14, the southbound right lane (from Illinois to Missouri) will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily
- On June 15 and 16, the northbound right lane (from Missouri to Illinois) will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily
It is anticipated the inspection will be completed on June 16.
IDOT also announced lane restrictions for an inspection on the Interstate 270 Chain of Rocks Canal Bridge beginning June 13.
The following lane closures will take place:
- On June 13, the westbound right lane will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- On June 14, the eastbound right lane will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
It is anticipated the inspection will be completed on June 14.
For both areas, traffic delays may be encountered. Traffic control devices will assist motorists making their way through the work zone. The department asks that motorists be patient, slow down and use extreme caution when traveling near and through this work zone.
