PONTOON BEACH — Denny’s restaurant, 4111 Timberlake Drive, kicked off its Grand Slam Celebration Jan. 7 in honor of an extensive interior remodeling project.
In addition to an official ribbon-cutting, customers were given opportunities to win prizes, such as free Original Grand Slams for one year, for the first 10 people through the door at 7 a.m. Several other prizes were given out as well, including additional Original Grand Slams that day, and commemorative T-shirts.
The Pontoon Beach area itself was the theme for the remodel, complete with a mural depicting local scenery. Tables, chairs and booths have been updated and new hardwood flooring installed. Wall accents with a modern flair, as well new landscaping, also contribute to the new look.
Franchise partner Sunrise Restaurants LLC, an arm to WKS Restaurant Group, said it is looking forward to providing residents of Pontoon Beach and Granite City with continued high-quality food and service.
“Today’s reopening is not only an exciting day for the residents of Pontoon Beach, but for all of us at Denny’s, as well,” Denny’s franchisee Abe Imani said. “We’ve been a key part of this community for many years, and we couldn’t think of a better way to thank our friends and neighbors for their continued support than with a Grand Slam Celebration.”
Mayor Mike Pagano was on hand for the celebration and is enthusiastic about Denny’s reopening.
“The building looks amazing,“ Pagano said. “They’ve been a good business here, for years and years. My wife and I eat here, and we’re glad to have them.”
Denny’s continues to offer a wide array of deals for their customers, including the $2-$4-$6-$8 Value Menu, which offers 16 traditional and a la carte items. The free Birthday Grand Slam is available to anyone who dines in and can show proof it’s their birthday.
For more health-conscious customers, Fit Fare options allow customers to substitute healthier choices into their meals, such as egg whites at no extra charge. With the Build Your Own Grand Slam menu, customers can create their own lower-calorie meal options.
For families, Kids Eat Free offers diners up to two free meals for children 10 and younger (for every adult entrée purchased.) Kids Eat Free is available 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. Tuesdays and Saturdays.
