WOOD RIVER – As approved by the Board of Directors, Shell Community Federal Credit Union is Midwest Members Credit Union as of May 2.
It is still the same institution and employees.
“We felt the name change was necessary to better represent the membership we serve,” President/ CEO Greg Lyons said. “We are very proud of our legacy with the refinery, and grateful to the community and membership for the years of trust and loyalty. We remain committed to providing all our members with highly competitive and convenient financial products and services. This name change is a crucial part of that commitment moving forward.”
The name change will not affect the accounts of the credit union's more than 16,000 members.
“It will be business as usual just with a new name and updated look,” Lyons said.
Members can continue to use their SCFCU checking accounts, credit and debit cards.
Midwest Members Credit Union has served the community for 81 years.
