ALTON — Creations by Kidada announces its inaugural mother-and-son dance, Jewels & Gents, to help strengthen the bond between mothers and sons and to show young men how to treat a lady.
Much like Creations by Kidada’s father-daughter dance in February, the Jewels & Gents event will be a place of positive family strengthening as well as a chance for community enrichment.
“Our father-daughter even went so well that we decided to extend that event to another event for mothers and sons,” said Kidada Miller, an Alton native who has been hosting events around the area since 2010. “This is a chance for the community to come together in love to be there for the youth. After so much unrest of recent tragic events, I think that it is time to bring some positivity back to the Alton area.”
Jewels & Gents will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at the YWCA at 304 E. Third St. in Alton. Tickets are $40 per couple and $10 each for additional children. A buffet-style dinner will be served, a professional DJ will keep the guests entertained and a professional photographer will capture special moments.
