EAST ALTON — From Dec.12-17, a local window tint company will be raising money for Dream Home Charities annual Fill Santa’s Semis event.
Tint shop owner Steve Yochum of Invictus Tint & Wraps will host this special event, offering $125 window tint installations for customers with all of the proceeds from the work benefiting Fill Santa’s Semis. For the last 5 years, the local charity has collected food, clothing, toys, household goods, bedding, school and office supplies, art supplies and even appliances to benefit food banks, animal shelters, religious organizations, women’s shelters and military charities.
Yochum opened Invictus in August at 223 N. Bellwood Drive in East Alton. The business offers services from window tinting to vinyl commercial vehicle wraps and auto detailing. Invictus is Yochum’s second tint and wrap business in the Riverbend.
“Having been in business for many years here in the Riverbend and having a great relationship with the communities in the Riverbend area when I returned to the industry, I felt this was a good way to give back to the area that has supported me,” Yochum said. “The guys I worked with in October are some of the best window tinters in the area and we had a blast in October. We are competitive in a good way, so I wanted to try and beat the number Carlinville put up.”
Invictus teamed up with Dusty Hunt, owner of Darkside Tint in Carlinville, Collin Andrews of SunStoppers in Jacksonville and Mike Talley of Darker Images in Jerseyville to help raise $1,500 for Dream Home Charites in October. The group named itself Tinters for a Cause, based on the success of the Carlinville event.
Invictus Tint & Wraps is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and Saturdays by appointment only. The business is in the same building as the recently opened Trust Family Auto Services.
